Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County

History Museum

Built in 1885 to serve as home to the minister of the English Lutheran Church—today’s Luther Memorial Church in Quincy, the History Museum showcases stories of Quincy and Adams County’s past.

Historical Society Museum

Welcome to the History Museum, where you’ll find exhibitions displaying our community’s past and present.
Exhibitions are organized by themes. Of special interest today is the museum’s Civil War room in which stories are told of the sacrifices men and women of our region made to preserve the union and end the sin of slavery.
There are exhibits about our communities’ founders, education and fine arts, industries, transportation, even a major doll collection, among others.
Tours begin in the Visitors Center.
