Our Mission
The Society’s mission is to provide for the education of its members and the community at large in Quincy and Adams County’s history. The Society is committed to the collection and preservation of the art, artifacts and documents related to local history. The preservation and exhibition of the Governor John Wood Mansion as a historical and architectural treasure is a key priority of the Society.

o Collecting and preserving historical items.
o Continuing the restoration and maintenance of the John Wood Mansion.
o Preserving and using the 1835 Pioneer Log Cabin and “The Parsonage.”
o Developing educational programs for Adams County school students.
