School Programs
The 1835 Pioneer Log Cabin is preserved and refurbished authentically. It is the focal point of the Society’s efforts to educate younger students about the history of early Quincy and Adams County. Students are guided by docents (costumed interpreters) through a four-part learning program
highlighting pre-settlement life in Adams County, pioneer life from 1835, craft demonstrations and an authentic pioneer garden.

1835 Log Cabin
The Historical Society’s two-story log cabin was built near Perry, Missouri. It is typical of the Northern European style and is like log cabins built in Quincy in the 1820s and 1830s.
This log cabin is in remarkable contrast to the splendid Greek Revival home of Governor Wood, which was built at about the same time
